About Me
- Name: It's me, T.J.
- Location: The Hill Country of Texas, United States
After graduating from college "the first time", I moved to Oklahoma where I lived for 30 years. In the fall of 2007 I moved "back home" to the Texas Hill Country. I write various summaries about numerous subjects, ranging from veterinary medicine to political viewpoints. I also like to take photographs. A journalist at heart, I don't pretend to have all the answers... just a whole lot of questions.

Beautiful photos! I love spring and all of the sights and sounds it brings.
Ahhh...I just love Spring. The pictures are gorgeous. I especially love the opening tulip. Did the kids take them?
You take such pretty pictures!
Hey Lea...
I do too!
Hey Pattie...
Yes. Both of the kids took these pictures. These are just a few of the birds that come to our yard and my flowers.
Hey Squirrel...
Thanks. But the kids took these!

Beautiful pictures.
Convey my appreciation and regards to your kids :)
I especially liked the last one with the small blue flowers and the one with the purple flower (6th picture). What are they?
Hey Vijay...
Thank you. I will tell the kids.
I have to apologize and tell you that I can't recall the name of the last flower. They naturalize quite well and can be found growing in yards and fields. They are very early bloomers coming out shortly after the crocus. (Not pictured here.)
The other flower is a perennial violet that may be considered by some as a "wildflower". I consider it as an antique flower that was dug up and planted in flowerbeds by very early gardeners. This plant loves heavy shade areas and can be found in wooded areas as well.
A little story about how I got this plant. It was growing in my yard. I considered it a type of weed and mowed over it for two years. (I don't use herbicides in my yard.) One spring it produced a bloom low to the ground that had been "missed" by my lawn mower. After the discovery of the beautiful tiny bloom I investigated on what kind of plant it was. I then promptly "rescued" it and transplanted it into two of my flower beds and have enjoyed it immensely ever since. The flower is tiny and is only about 1 inch in total diameter. (2.2cm)
It propagates slowly underground through the root system and is not invasive.
It's an early bloomer as well.
later...
beatiful pics!!!
Thanks Wolfbaby!
