Sexual Predator... *Head Count*...

Well, someone forwarded me this neat little link.

It's an interactive map. You type in your address and the map pops up. It shows where your house is and where the sex offenders are. It also shows the schools and tells you how far away the sex offender lives or works from the school.

The map is provided by Family Watchdog.

They have quite a bit of information on their website.

They also have an offender count by state.

Oklahoma has 5139 Sex offenders

For those of you who live in Nevada, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Vermont; you guys might want to start writing some of your representatives and congressmen.

The Family Watchdog states that they are still working on data for these states because...

"These states either do not provide address data or do not have a centralized registry".

I think that not having sex offender data available is criminal behavior by those state governments. This information should be easily accessible by the public in general.

Once again, I have been spammed by sexual predator movement alerts.

I will continue to post the names of these individuals as long as I feel that there is a need for it.

Just this past week, someone googled a sex offender's name and found them listed on my blog. A lot of people who google names, or themselves, aren't searching on the Oklahoma Department of Corrections website.

While I don't live in Nevada, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, or Vermont...

Who says one of these people might not move there?

As several people have said, as recently as just a few days ago...

It's a small world.

Especially for:

Ricky Lee Belt

Dallas Craft

Roger Neal Ruland

Jimmie George Stevens alias Big Jim

Timothy Wayne Solis

Richard Michael Dressler

David Gene Hunnicutt

TJ, Thanks for the info. I did check a link you provided a while back about sexual predators. i typed in my town, and a list popped up of names, but no addresses.

click on the names ... it gives you their addresses ... ....ugh ... there is one about 8 mobile homes away from me ... we didn't know this until we used the handy tool on this site ...ugh.

You have no idea how many times I've checked the mail at the same time as this guy.

grrrr. We're a mobile home park, and there are children as young as 3 running unsupervised and this guy served four years ... because of what he did to a minor ...and no one told us!

Hey Dom...

You may dig around a little bit on your government websites and department of corrections.

It's a federal law that they must be registered AND have their addresses available.

THEN... I would write your government leaders about it. Especially if you aren't able to easily locate this information.

Get this Peggi...

Within 1 1/2 miles of my home, in all directions, there are TWENTY-SEVEN SEX OFFENDERS.

And I don't live in downtown OKC or what could be considered as a *bad* part of town either!

Do a map search on someone you know who lives in an affluent neighborhood.

You will be SHOCKED!
