The Bible Reading Marathon...

Who's covering the story about the annual Bible Reading Marathon in Washington, D.C.?

It started on Sunday. On the steps of the capitol, the Bible will be read front to back, from Genesis to Revelations, non-stop, 24 hours each day, to be completed on Thursday, May 4, 2006.

90 continuous hours of God's word being spoken at our nation's capitol.

History of the U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon:

Each year since 1990, believers have gathered on the steps of our nation's Capitol for a Bible Reading Marathon leading up to the National Day of Prayer.

Many of the Bible Reading Marathons have been held in conjunction with the National Day of Prayer observances around our nation, which take place on the first Thursday of May.

Dr. John A. Hash, founder of the International Bible Reading Association has seen the importance of people reading all of God's Word, Genesis through Revelation, to prepare their hearts to pray in the way God would have.

God's Word and prayer are the real solutions to our nation's problems. This can only be accomplished by reading all the Bible because God has magnified His Word above His Name [Psalms 138:2].

You can listen to the reading online here.

This is a good thing.

Too bad the mainstream media doesn't think so.

They're too busy trying to take Christianity out of our communities, our schools, our holidays, and our government; too busy trying to take Christianity away from us.

If it was a news story bashing Christianity, you sure would have heard about it soon enough.

They don't want us to hear any 'life-giving' news.

Thank you for this information! I sent it onto my pastor.

Incredible that this didn't make the mainstream media. How sad :(

If we could get all of our blogging Christians to make a post about this I think that it would make a difference.

They have bots scan blogs for all kinds of information.

Also, you would be surprised how many "media folks" read blogs and search the internet for different terms, etc., to see what's out there and what's being said.

It seems people aren't interested in the "good" news - at least you're getting it spread :}

You'll be happy to know that KTOK am 1000 did cover that story this morning and even interviewed someone from the group on "Mullins in the Morning."

It's not huge publicity but it's something.
