I have heard the statistics. Our school district did a program for parents then 2 weeks later presented the material to the students. I think it was great that they did. We are all breaking new ground here and no one can fully understand the implications of the internet on our children. I dont believe it is all bad, in fact, I think it is really exciting!

Hey Kate!

Thanks for dropping by!

I don't think it is all bad either.

We just need to be aware...

very aware.

I think it is quite frightening and i can see how easy it is for kids to be lured into thinking they "know" they person they are speaking to over the internet. It is only since I have been blogging that I realise how connected we can become through the internet even though we don't talk face to face. I regularly remind my kids about if anyone asks to meet them, ask for private information etc. It's a horrible world out there ....

You're right Sue. If we have trouble trusting strangers that we meet face to face, why shouldn't we over the internet too?

Thanks Peggikaye...

Blogger has been a bad, bad host this past week.

I can't tell you how many times I couldn't access my blog, post, or comment just in the last seven days.

I hope they get their act together and get their issues fixed.
