The American Museum of Natural History...

We had very little time to spend in New York City. Which meant we couldn't see everything that there is to see there.

And there's a *lot* of stuff to see and do!

One of the things that I wanted to do was to go to the world famous museum in New York City, the American Museum of Natural History.

I could only imagine how big this place could be...

And the amount of time that it would take to see it all.

So my goal was to at least see the dinosaur exhibit.

A lot of time was spent in visiting the Statue of Liberty...

And we were running out of time.

We caught the subway that would take us to the museum and got off at the ~correct~ station.

*whew*

When we got out of the train and headed for the steps, I thought that we were going to come out on the street.

And then walk to the museum.

But to my surprise, the entry at the top of the steps lead us straight into the museum!

Is that cool or what?

We had arrived at the museum an hour before it closed.

Well, actually...

We got there an hour and two minutes before it was due to close at 5 pm.

The lady at the ticket counter said, "If you'll wait a minute, as soon as I leave my station you can go in at no charge."

What the heck?!

It wasn't very long before she had gathered her receipts and belongings, had stepped through her little swinging door and left.

The security guard gave us a little nod...

And off we went!

That building is huge!

We made it up the elevator to the fourth floor...

Where all the dinosaurs live.

Well, actually...

Where all the dinosaur *remains* are kept.

*smile*

And it took us about an hour to see the entire exhibit.

It was time to leave and we kind of meandered our way out of the building.

While we were "leaving" the building, I got to thinking...

If I lived in NYC...

I would make it a point to always come an hour before closing.

That way you could savor the exhibits...

One by one.

For free!!

It is a great place.

We're truly blessed to have gotten to visit there.

Glad you made it to the museum in one trip! And wasn't that nice of the lady, she could so easily have charged you and you wouldn't have known any different.

It looks like the dinosaur wants to be Parker's friend, lol.

Thanks for the "tip" TJ.I shall have to remember that next time I am in the city. The Museum is one of my favorite places to visit. Isn't it amazing? I am so glad that you had a good time...and that nobody stepped off the subway alone! *LOL*
Fun pic of the kids, BTW!

Hey Sue...

It *was* very nice of that woman! Unlike a lot of stories that you hear about NYC, we did run into a lot of nice people there.

Hey Pattie...

I think that you are a very fortunate person to get to go there so many times. I can only hope that we get to do the same!
